Punjab national bank and Union bank of India soon going to hire around 21500 employees in the coming quarters. Both of these banks are facing manpower shortage because of seniors retirements.
According to our sources delhi based PNB alone will hire 10,500 people.According to the sources close to industry, in the current financial year approximately 45000 people will be associated to banking industry.Large amount of posts will be filled by the written examination organized by Institute of Banking Personal Selection(IBPS).

To make the selection process easier, except State Bank of India and its partners , every bank has given permission to IBPS for organizing written exams. In a leading newspaper Punjab national bank and Managing Director R K Kamath said that these new posts includes would have 6500 clerks and 4000 officers more despite of having 3800 newly appointed clerks.Remaining posts will be filled by written selection test. Union bank of India head M V Nayar told that before september 2012 they will hire 10000 more employees.

IBPS will organize two written tests in a year and each candidate will be given a score. This score would be valid for one year from the date of result, though bank can decide different cut off marks according to there need. With that score candidates can apply to various banks.

IBPS Director M Balakrishnan said new system would be much better and transparent in comparison to old system where each bank takes seperate selection tests, which cause difficulty to the participants.
